A visit to the hospital

President Montoya our Mission's President and Elder Montoya from the Seventy

Hi everyone:
Haha OK so this week was wild.
First off a general authority from the Seventy, Elder Montoya, decided to come do a tour of our mission. It was great except that I was sick since Monday with a fever that wouldn't go down. We had 3 conferences this week and in one of them I went to lay down in the back cause I was so bad. Wait it gets better. Elder Montoya picks on my comp and I to teach him a lesson. He says OK hermanas teach me about the atonement of Jesus Christ. HAHA and I was so sick..like dying. But it turned out great.!!
Turns out I have parasites and amebiasis from unwashed vegetables and water. I was in the clinic for about 3 days. It was kind of depressing and I was praying to know what I had to learn from this.experience. Heavenly Father really does know us and everything. He does is really really well planned. I learned so much while being sick and I learned about the love He has for us. The mission really isn't easy, but it is what brings us the most joy because just like Alma and the son's of Mosiah I feel like my trials are completely covered in the love of Christ. There is nothing in this world that the Atonement of Jesus Christ doesn't cover.

I am totally OK though now! I love you all.

Tiquipaya

Hi everyone:

 This week was super good!

We are seeing so much progress in our area barrio Tiquipaya. We are teaching this amazing family! They are so prepared to hear the gospel. The oldest daughter, Jhazmin, knows the ward secretary and when he saw her at church he was so surprised. And he came with us to the appointment we had and she is just so prepared. She accepted to be baptized and is just so ready. Jose, the member, when we got out of the cita he said I never would have thought she would be interested in this church. They go to med school together and have been close friends, but he never mentioned the gospel to her. Sometimes we really dont know who is ready.

Also, we were visiting this baptist family who were just super kind, but Lenardo, the dad, had a lot of doubts about Joseph Smith. So, in that moment we kneeled down to pray with him and ask about Joseph and we all kneeled and while he was praying I started praying too. I wanted to confirm if this was the true church and I felt the spirit so so strongly. It was such a beautiful feeling. When we got up and sat back down the room was so warm and lighter. Lenardo had tears in his eyes but he insisted that he didnt feel anything. I asked him if he had a true desire to know if the church was true and he said no. We ended up dropping him and it was sad because I know this is the best decision for his family, but I came out of that lesson more converted. I think thats my favorite part about mission work. We can be rejected so so many times, but we just come out winning each time cause we are more converted!

There is a new hermana in the mission her name is Hermana Lopez too! and I am her sister training leader and we are in the same district.

New area, new companion

Leaving Sucre was so so hard, but now I back in Cochabamba my new area is Tiquipaya and I am so incredibly happy! I love my new companion Hermana Cristensen, so so much we are like the same person. And we both have this strong desire to help our new area progress.

We have made a plan that we want to find a family of 3 and we want to find a father that is questioning religion and we made a really detailed plan on how we are going to find this family and we presented it to Heavenly Father and yesterday before the first session of conference we were just walking coming back to a cita and I saw this really young guy with a kid and I was like hey we have to contact him and we like ran across the street and started talking to him. super humble father and out of nowhere he was like yeah, I am really doubting the catholic church but I don't know where else to go.  We wanted to teach him SOOO BADLY but his wife wasn't home so we had to get another appointment and while we were getting an appointment his wife out of nowhere just waks up and we introduce ourselves and ask can we come in? and she was like yeah sure and it was such a miracle. It was so beautiful being able to explain that there is a church that blesses and changes lives. and that there is a perfect gospel!!

and they want to be baptized and they are GOLDEN. It was amazing.

Also I learned sooo much during conference!! Everyone was so focused on teaching about service and about how we should stop thinking about ourselves. I loved when sister Oscarson said that we should make decisions based off of service and not our own needs.

I love this gospel!!
